I got an incredible deal on eBay of the perfect Strat I was looking for, a black Custom Shop NOS '69 Stratocaster with a maple neck (discontinued). Gets sent all the way to the local UPS facility, everything goes fine till Tuesday at 4 AM it was "Out for Delivery" to never show up. Got other stuff from UPS yesterday but not the guitar.

Seller already filed a claim and UPS are "tracing" it. I went to the facility tonight and asked for the item in person. "Oh, it says here that it got lost...we are already looking for it".

Now my question is how can a guitar get "lost".
I don't trust these guys, am I wrong in thinking someone at UPS liked my Strat too much?

I'm sure I'm not the only one going through this...what a frustrating experience. Anybody know the success rate of this "tracings"?

If you have the SN report it as stolen.

When I buy things online I make it a condition of the transaction before the deal is struck that UPS NOT be used. If the seller says there's no other option then I don't buy. Period. I have my own horror stories, yah, stories as in plural. I will not use UPS, ever again.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I do have the SN, where do I report it. Excuse my ignorance on the subject...

What's killing me is that even though I will get my money back, that exact guitar is impossible to find anymore. 3-way switch, 7.25 radius, etc. :(

I've heard so many horror stories about UPS that I only use Fedex. They are not only prompt but when they package up stuff for shipping nothing short of an atomic blast would damage it.

You are not allowed to use a word that applies to your own behavior.

Plus, I have claimed that word for the Nation of the Screamin' Armadillo and have sovereignty over it, so get off my property.

I will pay you a royalty of .4876 cents (Canadian) each time I use the word, and credit you in the same way that Bob Kane is given creator credit for Batman.

It will be awkward in my speech patterns, but I will quickly say, "Created by James Buxom, copyright 2011..." each time I use the word.

Well, I owe you $2.438 (Canadian) so far. The only problem is the fact I am not Canadian and have no Canadian money...we'll have to figure something else out. I may have to abandon my claim. I'll talk to my constituents and see if they will agree to annex it back to you.

Well, actually, I have a large foreign money collection, with about $5 in Canadian. I'll let you slide. Keep this thing under $100, and you have a nice day. *walks back to cop car* You never knew that I pulled you over, did you
