Thank you all who insulted my clean playing. It made me practice with it until I found some tones I really enjoy :D

Token of gratitude to y'all.

I dunno .... I've always been kinda partial to the sound of a Tele played clean with a Uni-Vibe. Although I do usually set mine a little less extreme than Naz does on this one.

My settings are pretty low, as far as gain goes. 3 and 1/2

Did you even listen to the clip? Cuz there was no gain ... at all.... Just Uni-Vibe.

You WERE talking about trippy sounds were you not? Slow up there, son. You don't have to post at the speed of sound. I am beginning to think that aside from whatever your disability is that you also suffer from ADD. You need to learn to relax. Slow down. Stop and try to comprehend what a member is talking about first before you respond. You are right in that I did say clean but that wasn't the point. I was drawing your attention to a trippy sound that I happen to like because you were talking about "no more trippy".

Don't worry, I'm not angry with you. I want to see you succeed here but I do think you need to think a little longer before you post. When I was your age my mother's favourite thing to say to me was, "Make sure your brain is engaged before you open your mouth." That's good advise for anybody.

Actually, there is gain. The way my amp works, if the gain is at 0, so is the volume.

I also misinterpreted what you said, but, trust me, there is gain.

I've never been tested for anything. Maybe I do.

Respectfully, clean or trippy (whatever that is), JUST TUNE THE DAMN THING.
What are you afraid of ?
I was about 8 when I learned to tune dad's guitar, started playing when I was about 12.
It's not hard.
You can do it.
.....Mark.

James--

You mentioned you often used open tunings because of issues with your hands...what tuning(s) are you using?
I'm not sure what type of music you play, but try the following:
(All tunings go from fat string to skinny)
Open G--DGDGBD
Capo this at your 2nd fret, and you have Open A.

Open D--DADF#AD
Capo this one a your 2nd fret, and you have open E.

Open Gm--DGDGBbD
That B flat is attained by tuning the B string down a half step.

Open Dm--DADGAD
Great for moody, atmospheric pop, blues and jazz

Your playing is much better than I expected (from your own descriptions, I was braced for the worst...), but SuperKid is right...get you a tuner. If there's a Guitar Center or other big box music store in your area, they often have cheap electronic tuners as stocking stuffers (less than $15 out the door)...

Peace out--

I like it, though investing in a tuner couldn't hurt.
