I have recently found great enjoyment playing a classical nylon string guitar. I am getting good enough that I am considering playing a couple Christmas tunes at my church. The thing is that my guitar is acoustic only so, I would need to play through the PA system and it would be nice to have a volume pedal so I could "enter and exit" during a song or the program without the boom/clank mic noise.

The only option I have found so far is to use a Low Z to High Z converter to plug into a guitar volume pedal. It just seems to me that a mic volume pedal would be a useful tool; which leads me to believe someone makes them or there is a better way for one person to accomplish this fade-in/out without putting down the guitar.

Thanks RCB, that is getting me closer. The way it looks the zoom a2.1 takes 1/4" in and can do XLR out. I could make this work but it has a lot more functions that I am looking for and is on the high end of what I want to spend.

It looks like I need to clarify a little more what I want to do. I want to play my classical acoustic (does not have a pickup) into my mic (sure SM-57) then plug the XLR mic cable into a volume pedal, then use an XLR cable out of the volume pedal to the PA.

I am thinking of something more like this, but with XLR in and outs instead of 1/4".

yw Briese!

If you take a deep look at the zoom features and specs, you can run a mic through the input! So, it's wut you want, plus some more!!!

If you shop around, you can get a used Zoom cheap. Going used, you'll get what you want, plus the added features. I'd go for a used Zoom!
