Thanks double 0, Trace is definitely prog in the more conventional way. While listening it sounded in the same key as God Gave Rock and Roll to You by Argent.

here is Atomic Rooster again

I'll throw in the weirdly named but amazing Dizzy Mizz Lizzy. Really underrated, unknown band, and that strat sound is just great!

I may get slack for this. But, Queen in their early days was pretty progressive, Check out the Queen II album. Especially "Ogre Battle" and "March of the Black Queen"..... Miss you Freddie....

Also a song my younger brother used to play "The tower" by the band "Angel".

I saw them in 1975 headlining their Sheer Heart Attack tour. Wonderful show.

How about a sample from a very underrated Canadian band... Triumph was a hell of a band back in the day. But they always got overshadowed by Rush and therefore overlooked by rock radio and magazines/media.

No Mean City and Malice In Wonderland are my favorite Nazareth albums. In this video the guitar player in the green sport jacket making a Fender Stratocaster sing is actually Zal Cleminson formerly of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band:
