Anyone out there in Fender-land familiar with, or have used, or use Aurora coated strings?

I remember when we were free!

I used a few sets of the blue Aurora strings a few months back. they sounded good, feel smooth like elixirs and they don't have that slight dullness that the DR coated strings have. but the coating came off allot faster than the DR strings. I imagine its because they have a thinner material used for the coating (which would explain the lack of high roll off). the coating chipped off in 2 days in the picking area and where the strings contact the frets it came off after maybe 4 days. you really notice it more on the areas you bend the most, probably from the string rolling on the frets. I was only playing an average of 3 hours a day during that trial run.

if you don't mind the color coming off they are good strings. but in my opinion not worth the extra cash.
