Here's a story about a Vox amp someone had and discovered that it once belonged to George Harrison. http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=686199
This makes me think of the holy grail of lost equipment, Mike Bloomfields '59 Les Paul. It disappeared while he was still alive. Probably confiscated by a disgruntled club owner after Mike didn't show up to finish a multi night gig. It was pretty beat up and it's totally possible that it was passed on, refinished, and the current owner doesn't know what he has. So keep checking those yard sales! :D

Can you imagine the kharma that's in that amp?I would sell an internal organ for something like a guitar or amp that belonged to George or John or Jimi for that matter. If I had unlimited funds I'd be a regular at these auctions.John's original J-160 is out there somewhere-if it wasn't destroyed by someone who didn't know it's value.I guess there's a lot of gear out there floating around that had at one time had a celebrity owner.

I"d sure want a bit more "provenance" for $100K+ than some name scratched onto an amp chassis.

"Subsequent research showed the amp to have belonged to Harrison"
Doesn't exactly seal the deal does it?

I'm sure for an extra 10K, the seller will give you a COA. :D
