Hmmm, I think I'd get an American Vintage Daphne Blue 50's Strat, and then I'd buy a Jackson RR5. No amps, or effects, I'm happy with what ive got!

I think I would have to get that Gretsch Corvette. In fact the wife made
me mad today so I might just order me one tonight and play dumb when
the fedx truck drops it off. What better to spend that 1200 Dollar stimulus
check on?

Oh yeah, I would just like to "Thank" Brad for giving me a reason to dream about spending another thousand bucks I haven't made yet. You're the best man! :?

'Thinking a '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue (about $850 in Metro Chicago if you shop) and the 'kind giver' could keep the change.

It's a toss up right now as I'm GASSING for another amp like a Blues Jr. but I'd probably consider a Tele or another Strat (MIM) with some left over for strings & stuff.

I doubt it's what you're looking for, but I always wanted a hard tail strat and the Robert Cray model strat is currently available for $925ish.

Edit: ahh old thread. Good to see you can still get something good for around $1000.

LOL!

I'd be tempted to say a Baja Tele and ABS case, but I think a Super Sonic 22 would be a better investment considering I already have almost too many guitars.

$1000 in Loonies doesn’t stretch far after exchange and taxes, but, $1000 American comes out to about $1300 Canadian.

While a few good guitars are possible for the choosing, and my choice for a new amp would include twin speakers or a head amp with a cab, and I might as well throw in that awesome ‘63 Reverb tank (not always available new reissue or used) that entertained me in ‘64, I could find use for a manageable 34 Ibs '65 Princeton Reverb Reissue, and I think I could squeeze that piece of history (originals go for about $2000 here) into my car for about $1000 US on this side of the border. Besides, it’s Fender month at my local dealer.

Sonic Blue would be nice.:D
