That would depend if it was the retail or net price.

If that was a net price, I would personally want to check out (beta test on as many gigs/recordings as possible) a totally new ( & finally ) Fender American Standard 5 string Precision Bass :!:

:D

Man I would be all over a RI Bassman.

crazy since I have an original 1993 Blues Deville 4x 10

however I would still have to go with the RI Bassman, I have been fooling around with the one at my local Fender store and dang its nice !!!

I would opt for a new American Standard jazz 5 string # tone burst because that would be "IT". " the ONE". Thank you and your welcome.

Hey Brad, if you HAD decided to go for a Tele, which finish would you have gone with?

Always wanted the classic Twin Reverb, but I don't have any use for an amp that powerful anymore. And I guess I'd have to kick in the difference, too. Still . . .

You can't get to the American Strats in the Artist Series without breaking through the $1K limit, and Custom Shop won't happen, but you can get a Fender American Deluxe Strat SSS. It's got the SCN noiseless, which the Custom Shop uses on their Pro. I'd compare it to the new Standard American, which has hum canceling from the reverse wound middle pickup. I met a Fender guy once who told me the AmDX has an incredible neck, with Fender putting a lot into it, and so you'd have to compare. Imho, you can't go wrong with either one of those.

I am really after a new esquire, and i just got one of those little gretsch amps that are just like the champ ri. That would be my choice and maybe a nashville power tele, the one with the fishman bridge. This is a good post brad!!!

I probably would have gone with an American Standard either in Natural or in Candy Cola; there's one in the latter finish hanging in our sound room here right now and it's a lovely beast, a treat for the eyes and the ears.

another MIM Strat HSS
a MIM Standard Telecaster

Muddy Waters Telecaster
original Fender hardshell case
as many as there are Fender straps
not that Made in USA Fender are not good,
it's just that I personally prefer Strat with vintage styling &
strictly 21 frets

Since I already have an American Strat and Tele, and a Cybertwin, and a GDEC, and a Stage 100 with bottom cab, I would go for a classic Twin Reverb even though I don't really need the power!!! :D
