We can all make it better.

Buxom has taken a step toward recovery from Jackassery. That's encouraging.

If we all agree to ignore the Doofus Down Under, he'll eventually go away. That might mean leaving an annoying/ridiculous/inaccurate/medacious statement or question alone (even when you have a spectacular zinger; when he asked what hell was like, I had 42,651 smart aleck answers at the ready, but I restrained myself and didn't post for a long time), but trust me, it's worth the wait to see him leave.

I just hope the great core like Ceri, Niki, Arjay, TexasGuitarSlinger, SomeBizarreDude, AndyBigHair and others like them (sorry if I didn't name-check you--you're on my mind!) don't get tired of the idiocy and leave. I would miss them all...Nevin and Poppa Wookie have already practically disappeared. :(

...and you, SuperKid (that's your name, even if you lost it in the Great Flame War of the 13-Year-Olds) have made it a better place...thank you.

...just ignore the bad and contribute to the good, and we'll all make it through.

Even though I don't post as regularly as a lot of the other members, I've been around for a while to see the good and bad... but I think things will get better. 8)

As for Strat-o-Tele (and whatever name he'll have in the future) I just don't bother reading his posts. Makes me a whole lot happier.

oh and also I want to with everyone a Merry Christmas to come!

Like smoky, I don't post too often, though I check the forum on my phone during break at work, and I've seen things go downhill. But hey, cheer up SK, you're quickly becoming a respected member of the forum, and things will improve. And I wholeheartedly agree with SA, in that we need to ignore Strat-o-Tele and his idiocy. He'll crowd the forum with his irrelevant posts, but if nobody responds he'll go somewhere else. (like 4chan, that's where he belongs)

As for Buxom, you got annoying but you apologized. Now you can redeem yourself, and I believe you will. Just try not to respond to SoT, or you'll get riled up again and get into trouble.

So I say let's get back to how things were and treat SoT like any common troll, and ignore everything he says, unless it's actually worth responding to. This has always been a great forum, and I'm proud to have been a member since it was still young. Keep the laughs, advice, good tunes, and general camaraderie coming. Don't let the trolls get in the way.

He isn't the common troll. There was a troll ranking guide on the Runescape forums somewhere. I'll pull it up if it's still there.

Yea, the game just isn't the same now. I only stay to run the guitar thread in Off Topic. I'm also under the same name in RS. I gave all of my gold to a few friends.

Who cares if im a troll. I went to a few other guitar (Fender related) forums anyway. Strat-Talk cares about people even though they are annoying sometimes

G'day Nathan.
You're persistent mate.
I'm an Aussie too and I admire your tenacious spirit, but this is not a suitable media for you. I have never seen you post anything negative about anyone and in person, you're probably a top bloke, but you won't get the attention you crave here for much longer. I think you know it's over. You really have to go mate. Good luck. Keep playing. You're not to bad a player, better than some on here. Just be patient, practice and the rewards will come.

Worry ye not dude!

I have a feeling things are about to get really interesting... Its just a matter of time before we get one of those mind bogglingly cool threads! I recommend keeping and eye out in the Strat Forum.

...it's not the Fender forum. I have other interests -- man does not live by guitar alone. All, and I mean all, *all* of the forums I visit are experiencing the same issue. It's society in general. People are not happy right now. A lot of people woke up to the truth about world politics and world finance and they are literally having dissociative events -- they are utterly devastated and it shows in their posts.

Rush, Distant Early Warning

An ill wind comes arising
Across the cities of the plain
There's no swimming in the heavy water
No singing in the acid rain
Red alert
Red alert
...
Left and rights of passage
Black and whites of youth
Who can face the knowledge
That the truth is not the truth?

Obsolete
Absolute

//

Decades ago I was devastated when I faced the knowledge that the truth was not the truth, utterly. We're just seeing a lot of people wake-up at one time!

If you can handle the truth, visit inforwars.com for news you can use, knowledge is power. Hopefully, enough people will wake up, take action, and get back to happy happy instead of...holy moses, the world is going to hell in a hand basket!

Send the angry to infowars, they'll have a place to unload so that when they come back here, they'll be thoroughly vented and have no need to unload here -- kill two birds with one stone!

Also, I see a small group of people who take this forum way, way to seriously. They don't quite get that a lot of people play for fun and come here to have fun -- not be nauseatingly serious ALL of the time. Yeah, there's a few brats on-board, but so what! Wut did you expect on a Fender forum, a forum informally dedicated to a guitar burning, amp humping, anti-war, anti-greed angel who revolutionized guitar playing via antics that astonished people ...what did you expect; a bunch of conformists or a mixed bag o' international creative nut cases?

Me? I ignore what offends me (whining is so...pathetic)!

And:

"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind!" -- Dr. Seuss

I'm with Ceri. I just don't see a problem.

One or two questionnable posts a day doesn't make for a Forum that is in trouble. And it's a collective over response to these junk posts that fuels them.

It will get better....compared to being in bands over the years it's really minor, the only real problem on a forum is people keep finding a way in,when a guy gets kicked out of the band he can go easy or he can do it the hard way...

I was always far more into trees, and extorting cannon balls. I was one of those people who actually did quests too. I got ancients about two days before I stopped playing.
