Nice swap Chet! I really like the Blackstar stuff, and I've always preferred combos over stacks. I've been thinking of an HT-20 Studio to run in an A/B/Y setup along with my Jet City. Is the tone of the 40 similar to the HT-5 or are you on a new learning curve setting this amp?

Tim
The tone is similar, however there are a couple of added features that have to be checked out/dialed in. So there is a new learning curve.

I still have and use it.

Just for you:

Thanks. Hard to believe it sounds better than it looks. Yes I found that if I play a left handed guitar and a right handed amp I get this out of phase tone that I like!!

Still learning this amp. It has some pretty cool features.

Clean Voice: On the clean channel you have the option of "Boutique" or "Modern".

Overdrive Voice: You can choose between "Classic" or "Mid-Band" gain.

Reverb Dark/Light: Warm/Dark or Bright with more zing on reverb tail.

Chet I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the wooden Feather setting on your CD case. It adds a little more coolness to your collection. Is it a Trophy or just cool? 8) and is it from the right wing or the left? 8)
----Danny,

----Danny,

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it too. A friend of mine gave it to me, her son made it in woodshop when he was in High School.
If you look closely at it there is a hand in it, and it is a right hand.

Nice score on the amp. Isn't horse tradin' fun?

I see that your Taylor solid body Custom is on the block (well I always assume that any interesting/unique lefty from V-ville is yours), what do you have your eye on now?

I love to do trades. Yes, That is my Taylor and you are correct about Lefties from V-ville being mine.

I am eyeing a Black Gibson SG Jr.

i've got my eye on the ht-60 combo. haven't found a bad review on it yet. Mr. Chet, i like an amp i can plug straight into and get enough grit to play my beloved heavy metal music. i don't play that all the time but i really don't want another pedal on the floor for that purpose. this model seems to offer alot to tweak with soundwise.
i too found some dealers arund here. lots of music stores here in DFW. this amp will have to floor me to get me to trade the peavey. i know that may sound stupid but the peavey suits my needs and it's paid for. i'll have to put some cash with the trade but i've had a good year.
let me know about the heavy sound you can pull from yours. i'm about to find some sound clips myself. i trust your opinion sir.
thanx.

There are some excellent clips on the Blackstar website and I believe there are some user clips on the Blackstar Forum.
There are 2 60 watt combos (1x12, 2x12) and both are excellent and LOUD!!!! I was looking at the the 2x12, but decided to go with the 40 watter instead.
These amps get extremely dirty and clean up nice too!!!

Yes, Celestion Speakers. I may swap mine for my normal Scumback Speaker. Let me know when you get it worked out!!

half a day searching and noone around this small town has a 212 combo in stock. all say they can order one for me. 2 stores have the 40 watter like yours. i'll probably go tomorrow and give that one a listen but i have my heart set on the 212. (2 overdrive channels). i'm sure the 40 watter will give me good idea what the 212 can do and i might place an order. i can't stand waiting.
