will i be able to get my guitar re-lacquered with nitrocellulose?

I assume you'll be using a rattle can, read the info on the can, it will tell you if it is compatible.
Most paints today are but be sure...Orange peel is no fun to remove..

oh, i forgot to say, i have this decal of a competition stripe, i was wondering if i could put that on, then get it re-lacquered with nitro

You will have a raised seam under the clear coat, hence why it is better to mask and spray...

oh, thanks. whats the best way to get an accurate stripe like the 60s competition mustangs? should i pay a professional to do it?
