Hello new to this forum and wonder if anybody can help me out.

I have a 2008 Mexico built Stratocaster and have the original strings that I really like, very bendable. Can I find out what type of strings they are?

If not what strings could anyone recommend for bluesy bends? Just had GHS Boomers put on my 80's Strat and can't seem to bend them worth a damn.

Thanks.

On my MIM Strat I use ernie ball slinkys, 11-42 but its my preference. a bit harder to bend and you will need a set up whenever you change string gauge. make sure they set you intonation other wise your tuning could be off. hope this helps a little.

Hi hdog505 as far as I know most MIM Strats come with 9-42 Bullets-at least my 2 did. I find D'Addario 8-38s to be about the most bendable stings I've tried. Some people find them too light but where I do fierce Buddy Guy,Albert King,Jimi style bends the 8s are right up my alley.BTW don't let people tell you that lights have a thin tone because guys like Billy Gibbons,Jimi,John Lennon,Tony Iommi and Carlos Santana to name a few use super light gauge strings but have a heavy tone.

Thanks for the help guys. Thought they were bullets, I like them a lot. I''l look into Ernie Balls for my Les Paul and have used D'Addario before. Will try those or the bullets in my '80's Strat.
