Don’t know if any users round the world ever see this show? Would be interested to get some opinions. Over here in the UK it is pretty much the only quality live music show and every player i know wants to one day be on it. I know its one of my ambitions.

Anyway, im very excited as tonight i get to be in the studio audience, so hardly realising my dream, but pretty cool none the less!! Is pretty convenient as its filmed just round the corner from me in shepherds bush, London. We have the red hot chili peppers, Noel Gallagher, the strokes and bjork i believe. Should be fun, though I fully expect to come out feeling a little bit depressed and wishing my band could get the break i long for and get to play our single on the show....

Olly

Have a great one Olly.

Tried to watch last week. Saw about three nanoseconds of Metallica with Lou Reed and decided it just wasn't worth the pain.

That tonight looks good though. Bet Bjork steals the show.

Very cool that you get to be in the studio audience for something like that. Have a good time and let us know what great fun it was!

Metallica and Lou Reed? I still can't figure out how and why that happened? Very very bad.

I've seen a few shows and my favorite was the one when
David Gilmour was playing guitar with McCartney and they
were doing old 50s-type rock 'n' roll tunes.

We get it via 'on demand' as a free program.

I'd rank it maybe number 3 :

HDNet Concerts
Palladia
concert.tv (Later with Jools Holland & others)

I end up only getting to see songs on youtube, but I wish we had something like that here in the US. The late night talk shows and SNL just don't cut it like they use to.

There are over 200,000 of us. Let's petition all the broadcast networks and request they take a good look at it. Maybe a bit Naive, but You never know. 8)

----Danny,

You would think BBC America would pick it up.

im a tad hungover at work today, but that was amazing last night. kinda not what i expected. You get frisked with airport style security going in, but once you are in its just like you are one of the crew, no security or barriers or anything, i tripped over quite a few cables!! Got to shake a lot of hands, met most people i wanted to, stood right behind flea`s microphone in one of the breaks and was allowed to take a photo of his pedal board! Not for me i might add, but my bass player will hopefully enjoy it.

Was standing right next to jools` piano when he interviewed Noel Gallagher. The room is surprisingly small, they just make very clever use of all the cameras being wheeled around in the centre always facing outwards.

Must admit, considering how much the show is watched around the world, it was a way more comfortable setting than I imagined! More so than most small gigs i play!! I can imagine it would be easy to forget how many millions are watching you through the cameras when you are just playing in such a small studio with such a supportive crowd.

All in all I would highly recommend anyone who lives in London and has always wanted to go to just keep trying to get tickets, its well worth it. Great fun, and a chance to get closer than id imagined possible to the musicians involved. Im quite looking forward to seeing the full length show on tv this Friday now to see how different the sound is o tv to what I remembered in the room.

Also, one more thing to mention, Josh, the chilli`s guitarist… Great player, great moves, lovely strat and some lush amps behind him, but way way too many effects!! 3 of the largest pedal boards ive ever seen, and all I could hear every time he played was pretty much a wash of effects. For me it went way too far. Kind of a shame I thought, but I guess that’s just his sound.

It'll never be Whistle Test good. But it's similar. A lot less informal and a bit more jamming between multiple bands.

I love Jools Holland, when I get the chance to see it. It's a very mixed bag of artists, and there is some brilliant music on there. I first found out about Arctic Monkeys on there, way before their breakthrough album, and also a lesser-known acoustic artist called M Ward.

Would love to go and see it- I'm envious!

Hi Olly: it's a good thought, I might go for it.

I've seen several TV recordings and failed to get into a couple of others (I'm to be spotted in the front row of this year's Stewart Lee series on BBC4, for the half dozen people who caught that). But I've never tried for Jools. Must put that right.

BTW: I always used to enjoy it when Jamiroquai were on. Not especially my kinda thing but, good grief, that guy can deliver a number.

Cheers - C
