I like em all. Some colors look better with maple fretboards, some look better with rosewood or ebony. 3 tone sunburst or tobacco burst has been the most popular finish on Fenders forever, and they look good with rosewood or maple. Red looks best with maple in my opinion. My candy cola strat looks great in the lights, but I am jonseing for a fiesta red with a maple neck. Just a little jealous SA.

Well, if it soothes your jealousy, my Fiesta Red Stratocaster has a rosewood fretboard...but it's still gorgeous, in my not-so-humble opinion.

That is an extremely cool guitar, if the picture is accurate it looks like the Fiesta Red has faded to an orange-ish tint. Either way it's great looking. I have a red jazz bass and I love the way the maple neck looks on that one.

And colors are funny. I hate black in vehicles especially because it always looks dirty. And I swore I would never have a black guitar, fingerprints etc. But when I came across a Musicmaster bass for only $130 I couldn't pass it up, even though it was black. I upgraded to a gray pearl pickguard and love the way it looks now, very classy.

But can I ask, what is the bridge with the "custom" plate on it? Is that something that's older or just a mod or something? Just never seen one like that before.

The color in the pics is a little off. I'm a terrible photographer and I was using a cheap camera and bad lighting. It's actually a bit deeper in color, but still very orange-y in tint...

The bridge plate is actually the original "ashtray" cover that came with the guitar (it's an early 1990's US-made '62 reissue). All the old Strats had these plates until some time in the mid-70's (I think).

...I found the little "CUSTOM" badge in a parking lot and glued it to the bridge cover (I think it looks cool). I never knew what it was from, until years later when I was sitting in a friend's recently restored '67 Pontiac and noticed a similar badge above the window crank.

Thanks for the compliments...

I see, the "custom" plate is a "custom" mod. Got it, thought it was some obscure bridge system that I just hadn't seen, got me on that one. And you're right, it looks cool on there.

My favorite guitar is my Jazzmaster here with the blonde skin, tortise shell guard, and gold hardware. BUt I'd have to say my favorite color is a toss up between shell pink and surf green!
