What color is your favorite guitar?

Love my crimson red transparent...vibrant color, great grain and excellent contrast with black pickguard.

I have a preference for woods and grain patterns which are enhanced by finishes. There's an artistic essence in that which I am sure my 'ol mate Ceri will understand and appreciate. The Sienna Sunburst, Aged Cherry, and Natural finishes have a way with well matched pieces of ash that really please the eye. Those of you who have seen Alain's 'Russian' can well appreciate the same. Of my Stratocasters, two are signature guitars whose finishes are paint. The others are burst finishes. I can appreciate Niki's love for that patiently waited for Les Paul. One of these days I going to get around to posting a photo of my '02 Les Paul Elegant Quilted Maple Top Triburst, the finish on which is, IMHO, to die for. :wink: [Hope my grammar and punctuation passes the muster of Ceri's retro-proof.]

My favorite is usually any of the colors I do not have. I must confess colors from the blue-green spectrum are my favorites.

Pake Placid Blue and Sonic Blue in Fender Strats!!

Hmm, how much you can miss when you go off to do other things for a while.

I like em all. Some colors look better with maple fretboards, some look better with rosewood or ebony. 3 tone sunburst or tobacco burst has been the most popular finish on Fenders forever, and they look good with rosewood or maple. Red looks best with maple in my opinion. My candy cola strat looks great in the lights, but I am jonseing for a fiesta red with a maple neck. Just a little jealous SA.

Don't currently own a sunburst guitar, which seems to be far in the lead in this poll. Not that I don't like the 'burst colors, but just never bought one. I like my Strats in black, for some reason. But my Tele is the first red guitar I've ever owned and it's my favorite at the moment. The candy apple red looks nice to me, mated to the maple fretboard.

Well, if it soothes your jealousy, my Fiesta Red Stratocaster has a rosewood fretboard...but it's still gorgeous, in my not-so-humble opinion. :lol:
