You are unable to get to any music store? No transportation? Weather too bad? No stores?

Hi Elix1r wherever you live there has to be a store selling online or Amazon.com, 13s are a heavy string to break, when you say "again" is it breaking at the same point every time.

I hate when this happens. My suggestion would be to order a HUGE pack of strings through musicians friend.

+1

There's no excuse not to have extra strings on hand at all times. :?

Only back in my very early days did I go without spare strings and I quickly learned that it's a must to have spare strings-especially the ones more prone to breakage-on hand at all times. If only your 13 string is always breaking there must be a reason for it especially if they're breaking in the same place. If they are breaking in the same place look for sharp edges etc, and file or sand them down.

There is this thing called the "Inter-net"; it is also called the "World Wide Web"...

One of the things that is so great about it is the fact that you can buy dang near anything--and get this--they'll deliver it TO YOUR HOUSE! Isn't that cool? It's kinda like those old Sears and Roebuck catalogs, except it's electronic.

I don't know for sure, but I'll bet you could buy guitar strings on this "Inter-net" thing.
:P

With the availability of orders on the web no reason to not have spare strings.

There's a seller on eBay that sells strings for $3 a pack with free shipping.

The other useful thing about the Sears and Roebuck catalog was the toilet paper it provided also.

Don't try that with your computer...electrical shock hazard!

...although, there some web pages that seem to have been used for that purpose, what with the crap on them. :|
