I picked this up for a great price from a friend on the far side of this vast country, took a couple of weeks to arrive but here it is...and worth the wait.

It's a Fresher FT-450 with a very hard to find 2 piece ash body.

Not having any real experience with Telecasters, I did what anybody would do and brought it to the man himself...Guitslinger :)

He plugged it into his JCM 800 stack and it really came to life. I'm impressed!!!

Hi Blinkers: I don't know anything about Fresher guitars but that's some nice looking timber, especially the maple on the neck. And is that an ebony fingerboard? It certainly looks very black.

Nice looking guitar - congrats!

Cheers - C

I don't really know about the Fresher company either. I do know that they are/were in Japan and made some Les Pauls as well. It's a rosewood fretboard, nice and dark isn't it?

There was a lot of care taken with the construction of this guitar and it shows once plugged in. Obviously done by a very talented luthier who cares about his work.

I'm waiting on Guitslinger to give his opinion on it.... :D

At first blush I was blown away by the quality and workmanship that went into this guitar, the bookmatching and joining on the 2 piece body is just incredible-right up to Ceri quality in workmanship and attention to detail. When played unplugged it rings loud and clear but when I plugged into the trusty JCM 800 2204 stack I was blown away.

I went through I Can See For Miles and Magic Bus with her and she was spot on Townshend territory.Played clean she has real sparkle and the most treble response I've ever heard in Tele type guitar but it was never shrill.I went through the lead break of Something with the neck pup rolled back a bit and she had the real Harrison tone to her.Speaking of George this is one of the best Teles I've ever played and heard,it's even on par with the Rosewood Tele a buddy of mine once owned. The neck is more Strat-like than Tele like but that's not a bad thing. All in all for the first Fresher I've ever seen I'm really impressed and wouldn't hesitate to buy one sight unseen if the quality of this one is any indication of their overall quality. If I saw this in a music store with a sticker price of $2,000 used I wouldn't be surprised-it's that good.
