How about cranking a small wattage amp... :?: :?:
Or in other words use only as big as you need....If playing live you are driving people out because of loudness while still attempting to have that natural distortion, than your amp is too big for your venues.

Mine, the best clean fuzz I've heard.
Impulse7 has one, he's in QLD and gigging.
(hint hint)

A Big Muff will suit your needs for Punk, Blues and Alt. It sounds more like distortion than a real, buzzy fuzz, though.

Fulltone '69 for a classic fuzz
Fulltone '70 for an over-the-top fuzz

I thought your mum wouldn't let you get a muff?
Consider this if you're thinking about anything in the muff family. http://www.madebymike.co.uk/greenmuff.shtml

Hard to beat a Big Muff for fuzz. Man, that didn't come out right. Gotta get my head out of the gutter.

+1, if you want fuzz, nobody beats Fulltone.

You got b&'d? How? Also, I'd go with a Crate GLX-65. I've found the dual gain with concert hall reverb and tone on my guitar at 10 does fuzz nicely.

Some of the best fuzz pedals around are being made in Australia at the moment... Shaun Klinger in Melbourne is the man. I have old MK II and MK III tonebender styles by Klinger... his new Buzzarounds and MK I's are getting raves from all over the place. My bank balance is about -$24 at the moment, or I'd be grabbing one of these.

I have both of them. Best (currently made) fuzz pedals I ever tried, bar none.
