Pity they don't do something vaguely similar in the UK - the home of so many great Fender players!

When I visited Fender UK they wouldn't even let me past the reception area. It was like they thought I was going to nick the spoons or something!

Cheers - Peter. (Strat player for 35 years).

I remembered on my tour, the cost was around $1600. There were some one-off color bodies that marketing rejected for sale. There was talk of having other models besides the AmStd Strat available, i.e. vintage types, and maybe Telecasters. There was a '52 Hot Rod Tele neck available.

Are there no American Deluxe Strats available? Hmm...

This sounds pretty cool. I'd love to see the "menu" of options available just like the Custom Shop Quote Guide.

So does anyone know if they have opened up their market to other guitars like Jags or is it still only strats and teles?

Now that Fender is a little further along with this, has anybody had a chance to take on the American Design Experience? How did you find the experience? How was the selection?

It should at least include the "core four"... Strats, Teles, Jazz Basses and Precision Basses. Hopefully this pilot program does well for them, and they extend it to at least these four models. I could see making a trip out to Cali to design a sweet J Bass... or maybe even a P bass to add to my group. I don't know if I'm really interested in shelling out that kind of cash for a strat or tele though. Just not a big fan of Fender guitars... I like a carved top on a guitar. I tend to prefer a Fender bass though. :D
