I like stands.. if something goes bizzarely wrong with it and it falls appart or falls, you're guitar shouldn't recieve much damage.. if it happens to one hanging on a wall...

I find that if I put some of the guitars in their cases they never get played (and I have put some away for awhile). It's just easier to grab one that's available rather than to go through the pile of cases looking for one. I have real plaster walls (it's kind of an old place) so hanging them up isn't a good idea for me.

I once heard that hanging guitars can put some stress on the neck. Can't remember if it was bolt-ons, set necks or both. Might be an old wives' tale. Any old wives out there to refute or verify?

The link I posted up there ^ ^ ^ shows a 2-piece kit which should take a lot of the stress off of the more fragile parts.

8) Here are my questions for all to ponder, which is better for the guitar? hanging up on a wall hangar or placed in a stand and does hanging the guitar on the wall affect the neck at all? I have been wondering this for awhile now, but I can't find any evidence to indicate either is bad for your guitar.
thanks, 8)

I don't like either, to be perfectly honest. I'm pretty superstitious about this....but in truth, whenever I'm not playing a guitar I like to leave it in its case.

I may have one guitar stand....but I haven't used it in months...(7 guitars)

I took the guts out of a huge fireproof gun safe and store my guitars in their cases in the safe.

the one I leave out to play on is on the bar in its case untill I need it.

I do keep a beater in a hurcules stand nera the amps in my practice room.

Pictures Barry Pullis?

I was thinking about something like this:

since it's a 2 piece and isn't being held up just by the neck.

No photos to offer, but what you have shown is just as nice. Mine hang from the necks, and as long as you are in a stud in the wall, they are safe. I have always used hangers and never had issues.

Of course if you collect guitars...there comes a time when hanging them on the wall is essential, just to save space...

I keep mine in their cases, because there are others about--and I still play them. I find it difficult to walk by them without taking at least one of them out. While I have them out I put them on stands when I take a break.

I know I mentioned the stands & cases things before--but I had to add I find it doesn't decrease my playing time. I've left them on stands before, and it didn't mean I played them any more or any less.
