Wall hangers are great if you have the space... keeps your guitars accessible, clears floor space... and displays them like the works of art they are. :) I also think they gather less dust on the wall.

This is probably a silly question, but what do the folk at FENDER say on the subject?

Given the expense of a good quality instrument, this seems to be a worthwhile question. Oh, I did learn that if your instrument is in contact with case padding, wall hanger foam or any material besides a good old cleaning cloth you will experience marring or worse to your guitar's finish. My once beautiful old Guild D-35 suffered this, and the long-term effects of keeping it in it's case (and not playing it enough) caused some neck warping. I would cry my eyes out if my new American Deluxe Strat suffered this way. Oh, I am using wall hangers on all my guitars and I have a cleaning cloth in between where the hanger and guitar would make contact.

with the case being closed! Just last week I had my Les Paul in its case - open - in my bedroom and moving a stack of stuff off a bookshelf onto my bed when the rechargable battery charger at the top of the stack slid off, bounced off the bed and onto my beauty.  major DING!

My strat was safe on its stand. :)

'With Cryingstrat, they go back in the case or bag and lean on the wall.

Does anyone have guitars mounted on their wall? What product did you use and do you have pictures? I have a couple of basses (lefties) and was thinking about wall-mounting them.

I don't trust wall hangers. I really don't trust them with offset headstocks, like Fender uses.

Hello Niceinflorida and All,

A few weeks back I broke down and
finally purchased a guitar stand on sale
for $12, typical tubular steel model.

It's been pretty handy, I'm glad
I got it.

Cheers.

I just know that I use a stand because my wife would tan my hide if put holes in the wall to hang my guitars. In that case I would say a stand is better. Otherwise I don't know.

The best place to display your guitar is in your hands!

I put mine on wall hangers when not in use. Nice way to display as work of art.

Pictures Barry Pullis?

I was thinking about something like this:

http://guitarideas.net/shop/index.php?a ... revstart=0

since it's a 2 piece and isn't being held up just by the neck.
