From my friendface page:
The Rolling Stones
Brian and Mick talk about their love of Howlin' Wolf and introduce him on 60's US music show, Shindig. Apologies for the grainy quality of the video, but you can just about make out the wonderful Hubert Sumlin on guitar. RIP Hubert, we'll remember you forever. Thanks for everything.

wiki: "The Resurrection of Pigboy Crabshaw is a 1967 album by The Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Its name refers to Elvin Bishop, whose role shifted to lead guitarist after Mike Bloomfield departed to form Electric Flag. The album marked a slight shift in the band's sound towards R&B and features a horn section."

Does Otis Rush play with the low E at the bottom and the high E at the top? That's how it looks to me.

wiki:
"Rush is left-handed and, unlike many other left-handed guitarists, plays a left-handed instrument strung upside-down with the low E string at the bottom. He played often with the little finger of his pick hand curled under the low E for positioning. It is widely believed that this contributes to his distinctive sound."

Simply stated....a righted handed guitar flipped. I also suspected that bending a string downward has a slightly different sonic property than upward. Don't know why, but it appears that way to the ear.

Good question chuckbat1. Freddie King is from Texas, affectionately known as "the Texas Cannonball". I would usually post his video's on the "texas blues" thread, but wiki has him as an influence on both Chicago Blues and Texas Blues. When in Chicago Freddie worked with many of the greats but wiki states those recordings haven't surfaced. His recordings for King Studios in Cincinnati, Ohio, were his first so I guess he's a Ohio bluesman as well, lol.
Breaking convention for a song here is a cut from Getting Ready an album he did at Chess Records for Leon Russel's Shelter label in 1971. Chicago loves Freddie, he was a Big man on the west side back in the day and if you know Chi-town the southside is tough but the west side dangerous.

Thanks for the clip. I love the sound of Freddy's voice. I hadn't heard that song before. My favorite is probably the overall consensus "when a man loves a woman". Just an awesome song. :P
