It seems that we bought the truck just in the nick of time. The Missus went for groceries in the car while I went pretty far out of town to pick up a cap for the truck. She was just about 4 miles from home when the rad blew. She called me on the cell and I picked her up and called a tow truck.Anyway between the jigs and reels we told the tow truck guy to take her and go on as we had very little chance of selling her being on a little unpaved lane 1 mile from the main road.Anyway I got a great bargain on a cap with very little use,in great shape, with privacy glass and dual locks so it's extra secure.Well today wasn't a total loss.

No kidding it's one darn thing after another, especially with older cars. When they start to nickel and dime you it's time for a change. Unfortunately from a financial standpoint we cant always do that. Good luck with the dilemma. :(

In this case, it was probably a good decision to just let it go.

Sorry to hear about radiator, but sounds like a good score on the cap.

Yours too, GS? Seems like a bug, eh? Mine only has a small issue, which sadly locks it down until solved by this little gadget: Image

I wish you a good ride with your new ride! 8)

Cheers

I just took My one Honda to the dealer and had them give it a general maintenance check up. This ones a 1999 that I bought new and it has 75,000 so I had the do all the belts including timing belt, the water pump comes with that and also brakes it was $1500. in preventive maintenance. Also did the oil and the battery on the other 2005 Honda and rotated the tires and oil change on the 2010 Pickup truck. Be putting the Buell up for winter soon and hooking up the trickle charger.

Yesterday afternoon I was talking to the guy who towed the car, looking for the registration so I could forward it to motor registration to say that I had let it go for scrap. The tow truck guy said that that would be a bit of a chore as he had taken off the new tires and rims we had on it and sent it to the crusher.I got a sad feeling for such a great little car come to such an unceremonious end.Even though it had started to give trouble, up until recently it had given us over 200,000 km of trouble free driving.
