Jake, it seems you go out of your way to be seen as "unique", and that's fine...maybe even a bit cool. Overall, I enjoy your off-beat sensibilities and different take on life.

But if you're going to be so easily offended when people rag on you for your own brand of "unique coolness," you either need to hide it or grow a thicker skin. There's a lot of arguing that come from your replies and your sensitivities.

There are no stupid questions, but there are questions that set you up for public ridicule.

As for the "WTF factor", I would rather a person be impressed by the fact that I play well than by the fact that I play a weirdly appointed/set up instrument.

 why don't you get a floyd locking nut and weave your strings like a basket and put some ribbon and beads on them in the process  you could even use several different colors of the DR coated strings :D

Between the A and D as well as the G and B strings, the nut being slotted at an angle, thus forming a triangle, very likely that that amount of additional tension from the strings would eventually snap off the small triangles...

Then again how often would you attempt to tune up thinking of the conventional setup only to realize once again, tuning post E is actually the D string, post A is the B string, post D is the High E, post G is your E bass string, post B is your A and post E is the G string....
I can see a flying guitar going across the room/stage... :x

And since confusion reigns supreme, why stop there.. :?: lets all flip our guitars upside down and play in a southpaw mode or for those South paws....In a North paw mode.....

Nigel Tufnel and Monty Python would be proud as we all Duck Walk and Walk this Way on stage. Just careful with that Axe Eugene.......
