Arjay served in the military?
Did not know that.
My hat is off to you, sir.

You're too late. Upon my demise a friend in Denton, Texas will receive first right-of-refusal. If he declines, the widow will be putting it up on Ebay -- you'll have to grovel for it with all the other shmucks.

You bet. FYI, the amp dates to November of '65 -- all original save for a recent cap job and the speaker, which is a CTS alnico from a '67 Super Reverb. Original F/S, repro cover, about a 9.5/10 cosmetically. It sounds like frying bacon smells.

Arjay, I'm still curious as to what branch you served in. I'm sorry to pester, but war stories fascinate me. I'd ask my grandpa for more, but he's been buried at Quantico for 11 years now...

In my opinion, if it says Fender on it and it was built in a FMIC plant it is a Fender guitar. Anyone who purchaces a guitar does so with their money. If anyone does not think that a MIM, MIJ, or CIC made Fender is not a true Fender, they have the choice to not buy one.

This is one of the stupidest threads ever.

True or False?

All the constant debating over USA vs. all the rest...there are now Chinese Fenders you know...will never end. Just play whatever you have and be grateful. Buy the best one you can find, no matter where it was made. Some USA models are duds, so are some MIM's and some CIJ's. You know what? I bet a few of the Chinese ones will actually be decent! It has always been a crap shoot, even with Pre-CBS Fullertons. No two instruments are ever exactly alike. A really good MIM is better than a dreadful MIA for sure. Judge them individually, not collectively. And once you find THE ONE play the bejinkers out of it.

Most likely a troll post, the OP only has 6 posts on these forums total and hasn't participated in this thread past the original post and we are now on 5 pages.

Definite sign of a Troll.

Or an "alpha hotel" conducting market research for a competitor.

According to the poll, I guess 5 people think so.

Personally, I think if it's made in a fender factory, its a fender. 8)
