I recently purchased a 1999 Active Deluxe Jazz as I was intrigued by the active preamp and single pole pickups. However when I tried it, the sound seemed thin in the center pan selection. When I panned to bridge or neck it got a but better, but overall it sounds like the pickups are out of phase...any ideas why?

Well yes, that's pretty obvious - but with a dead battery you get no sound or a weak sound :) hoping someone has some technical opinions, these pickups are noiseless humbuckers, there may be a reverse polarity issue hence the thin sound
