I have wondered: why did they pick the name "La Cabronita" for that guitar model?

Is it the name of a person or place?

There is just something about that name that sounds too much like a bad word in Spanish.

BTW:
Cadillac had a car model out called the "Catera" back in the '90's.
I knew a Hindu guy back in the '90's who said that "Catera" means "piece of ___" in Indian. He was laughing at the TV commercial!!!!

I don't know, but I heard TV Jones pickups are decent.

It's Spanish slang that roughly translates as "the little bastard". It can be either an insult or a sort of compliment -- it sort of depends on whether you say it with a smile and a wink (bastard as in "bad-ass") or say it with a sneer and a scowl (bastard as in "a-hole").

The La Cabronita is sort of the illegitimate son of a Tele and a Gretsch and it's a bad-ass, so the name is meant to be said with a smile and a wink.
