A friend of mine and I are going to get together to see if we can learn a couple of blues tunes. He is a singer, I play guitar. As you can see we are short a drummer and bass player. I was wondering if anyone had any recommedations for a drum machine that has both drum and bass samples and possibly the ability to create rhythm tracks. I am not very technology savvy so something that is user friendly and straight-forward (technogically speaking), and that could be found in the used market (Craigslist, etc.) for a $100 or so. I do not want to buy software or a large amount of supporting equipment. Just something that I could plug into an amp or stereo system to help with the rythm section.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance to my Fender Forum Friends....

I use an Alesis SR16. I think it's good for what it does, no bass tracks though. Tons of drum patterns and you can make your own patterns and program songs.

A buddy of mine has a Korg Pandora that does drums and bass, not sure how good it is. I bet the drum and bass tracks are limited.

You could also get a looper and record drums and bass tracks to it.

You're welcome.

If I were you I'd get a drum machine and put an ad up on Craigslist for a bass player.
