I have a friend named Jim Wagner that makes pickups (WCR Pickups www.crcoils.com). He mostly makes Humbuckers but does make a single coil set named SRs. I have an SR set in my 1986 Fender Strat and a set of his humbuckers called a BetSet in my Gibson LP.

Well, Jim is at this very moment winging his way to Nashville, TN. with 2 very special boxes getting hand delivered. In one box is an SR set and in the second box is a Crossroads set.
The first box with the SR's is going to Eric Clapton, the second box with the Crossroads is going to Doyle Bramhall II!!!!!!!!!!

Gotcha...I understand. I was just wondering if he's just now starting to work with the big names or has he been for awhile.

On, no. He has quite a few other big clients. I brought it up because there is lots of talk about Eric and Doyle here.

Jim makes some excellent pickups and there are a few options that you can choose from.

I got to meet and speak for a minute or 2 to Doyle's dad, who is very big in SRV music history himself. He is very proud of his son.

Congrats to your friend for getting to give these pups to these great players.

Jim (WCR Pickups) makes a BetSet for the Dickey Betts tone. Fantastic pups, I have a set in my LP. And his SR's are fabulous in my Strat.
