Looking to get that signature Ace tone as much as possible with my setup and gear. I know what gauge Ace has and I saw Ace signature strings, but do you know if they still make them? Thanks.

You won't get that "signature Ace tone" just because Frehley endorsed some strings. It goes a lot deeper than that. You could play Frehley's whole rig and you'll still sound like you.

There's nothing remarkable about these strings mate. The pack will look good in your case, if that what your into. I'm sure you can get whatever gauges you want individually.
They're unlikely to become collectors items, KISS have endorsed plenty of crap over the years, so just enjoy 'em. Stock up on them, they're cheap enough.
.....and good luck with the Ace tone.

Kiss has always been marketing and merchandising whores. We used to shoot the Kiss action figures with pellet guns. I'm not saying they weren't successful by any means, our band in the 70's even covered a couple of their songs, they just weren't my thing. Their theatrics couldn't hold a candle to Alice Cooper.

You guys have to remember that these strings were made shortly after Ace's return to
KISS for the Reunion Tour and Phsyco Circus album.
They were realeased to go with his new Signature model Gibson, so really it wasn't a marketing stunt by KISS itself.

Oh, and I realize that they're just a regular set of 9's but they're Ace 9's.

They need the bands permission to put the Kiss name on anything. Kiss was involved in some way. Kiss had a great run. They should tour with Gwar. It would be a fun show. Kind of like Godzilla vs the giant robots or something.

If you look closely, you will notice that nowhere does it say KISS on the box. Just "Ace Frehley". Ace is most recognizable for being the Spaceman. He had to pay royalties on only the makeup use.

Anyway, are they still in production anybody?

Because it says Ace Frehley on the box, you're just going to line Ace's pockets. Tone is in the hands, man. You can't buy the magic bullet, you have to develop it.
