Guitslinger,

Hope the Mrs. Guitslinger gets well soon. Of course some Texas Mojo being sent as well. You had mentioned that she was sick before all this started. Did she have fever with cold/flu-like symptoms? If so did she take more than usual amounts of Motrin (ibuprophen) or Tylenol (acetaminophen)? If so, talk to MD on her case to let them know that as well.

Further thanks for the well wishes.RKreisher: she had just taken her usual meds and nothing out of the ordinary, that's why everyone is so puzzled.

This got me thinking, I was prescribed Mobic (non-narcotic anti-inflammatory). After about 5-6 months on it I started to suddenly have serious abdominal issues. The point is it took that long before I had side effects. My stomach lining was starting to break down and ulcers were forming. It was an unusual type of pain. I thought it was an appendicitis or something. Long story short, stopped the Mobic and got better pretty quick. I trust Doctors to a point, they will do what they can. I believe a person has to participate in their own care by educating themselves as much as possible about their condition. You can't let the internet scare you every time you get a sniffle, But Doctors are just people and no one cares more than you.

Best wishes.
Edit: I not saying you haven't done this already or the best you can. Just general advice.

Further update:Apparently they found 2 or 3 polyps from the endoscopy and they are thinking that these may be the culprits responsible for the bleeding. Her hemoglobin keeps on fluctuating and they won't even consider sending her home until that at least stabilizes.

I pray all will be well for the both of you. My wife passed away after 10 years of battle with Leukemia. There is nothing quite like the helplessness you feel when she is sick and there is "nothing" you can do but lend emotional support.

Take care of yourself also. Its important to eat well and exercise and get away from the situation even for short periods, short psychological breaks. Go look at guitars or cars or whatever gets your mind away from it all.

Keep us posted.

Great news! Our youngest daughter-the paramedic in training-flew home last night to take care of her mom.I didn't tell the little woman that she was home. She was discharged this afternoon and almost took a dump when she walked in the door and saw our youngest. She's still very tired and wobbly on her pins but it seems that the worst is over. They still haven'y reached a prognosis as to what caused her to throw up blood but are supposing that it had something to do with the polyps. They have placed her on a myriad or meds and supplements and she still has to undergo follow up tests. Thanks again to all of you for your kindness at this trying time.BTW ABS:The troops have been rallied as she is a civilian employee of the Department of National Defence,Construction and Engineering Division.
