I was soloing over the Beatles song "Let it Be" using the C Major Pentatonic. All the note in it are part of the Am Pentatonic, so my question is, could you use the Am Pentatonic over it? Thanks. 8)

Yes, Am is the relative minor of C Major (the 6th degree of c major). They share the same notes. Just keep in mind your root note is C when ripp'en licks.

Yep, C major, Georges' solo in 'Let It Be' was the first solo I ever learned. As I've posted before, I started learning to play guitar at the age of 22yr, back in '72.

I had just started buying Guitar Player magazine, and one of the lessons was a tab of the solo. This opened my eyes on how to playing lead guitar, not just the tabbed solo, but the author's suggestions.

Here's the video of 'Let It Be' http://youtu.be/RdopMqrftXs

Agreed - Key of C - play all over the neck.

They're the same thing, the only difference is the root note. Mix and match depending which chord your playing over.

mix it up a little... I would go with E phrygian for some fun.

all three have the same notes, if you focus on the C you'll get that classic major sound... but have fun with it. Rip into some a minor pentatonic soloing or do a mode, its a fun way to interpret and look at a song differently.
