I just put the finishing touches on this quick build tonight, got it tuned up, neck adjusted, tuned up, strings stretched, tuned up and finally played it.

The Halloween Strat

Not an expensive build, but you gotta start somewhere, so this was it. Fender neck, aftermarket body in Rockabilly Orange, Fender Schaller tuners, secret source loaded pick guard and matching back plate; Fender string tree, screws, strap pins (missing in pics), jack plate, neck plate and aftermarket bridge.

Tomorrow I'll clean up the mess.

Great job--LOVE the color...I need one of every shade of orange; since I already have Fiesta Red, what's next? Hmm...

Yeah, I've been pining for an orange Strat for a long time and finally decided I would just put one together. This is the darker of three shades of orange I was looking at and I thought it would look better with the pearloid pick guard and the birds-eye maple neck. I think it's exactly what I was looking for. :D

A little more fine tuning and I think I'll perform with it soon.

Needs a black pickguard and some skull-head knobs to be totally convincing......

You're right, Arjay! What was I thinking? Since it's now November, I'll wait until next October, then refit it with black PG and pups and I'll find those skull-head knobs, too. Come to think of it, I already have a loaded 60s RI Fender black/black SSS pickguard in a box somewhere that I forgot all about.
