Anyone tried them? Note the lack of wire to the base of the pickup. Three connector prongs instead. Bit of a circuitboard going on underneath too.

Anyone heard them yet?

I saw an American Strat with these in my local store yesterday. I had never seen that logo on the pickups before, so I was gonna ask, but got distracted by the owner on a Tele. (he was bad $@!)

Intriguing...nothing in the description about the tone except "Strat" tone (but I didn't read it too closely)...

"Strat" tone...vintage or high gain? What era? Too vague of a description.

I saw those and was quite interested in learning more too.

Gibson is now making a guitar with split coil P-90's. No info on them either.

I just shot off an email to Fender to see what technical info they could give me on them.

I'd guess by the name that half the slugs are North up the other half are South up. For example E,A,D would be north up with the wind going clockwise. G,B,E would be south up with the same wire on the bass strings winding anticlockwise.

That would work and be hum cancelling wouldn't it?

That was my thinking too.

I wonder if their design is anything like a variation on those G&L Z-shaped single coils from a few years back...those had a great rich-yet-vintage tone and were purportedly noiseless.
