Mitch Mtchell, Adolfo "fito" De La Parra, Buddy Rich, Tony Williams, Aynsly Dunbar, Michael Shrieve, Ted Mckenna, Ian Paice, Lee Kerslake, Carl Palmer, all of those previously mentioned and not on the "list" and last but not least where is Mel Taylor, and, not to forget, Gene Krupa.

Of course we musn't forget Buddy Miles from the Electric Flag and Band of Gypsies and Billy Cobham whose Funky Thide Of Sings is most likely the best drum oriented album ever made.

I can't choose between Bonham and Keith Moon. Bonham was perfect drummer, and Keith had rock 'n' roll energy.

You all are forgetting another incredible Canadian drummer:

Gil Moore (Triumph)

I saw Triumph in concert back in the early 80's and the guy was unbelievable! Not only did he have such a massive kit (where you literally couldn't see him - all you saw where arms and the top of his head), but he played with skill, talent, and also co-lead vocals at the same time! 8)

How you can omit Simon Phillips, Carmine Appice, Keith Moon, Ian Paice and the list goes on and on is beyond me. :? :? :?

^^^^ You read my mind guitslinger! i was thinking the exact same thing.

As for the vote; Bonzo all the way, his drums sounded like canons goin' off! listen to "When The Levee Breaks" incredible is the word for Bonzo. 8)

Ginger Baker is also incredible and should have been on their. Ringo Starr in front of Moony and Baker :?: :?:

I don't know but i heard a few people who are a lot more knowledgeable about drummers than me and they said Ringo Starr really was inept as a drummer.

People, these responses are great because I love learning from y'all, but just to be clear: I did not say "the best," meaning the best might not necessarily be in my list. I said "the better," which actually is proper grammar and means the better of those in my list. I know people are not used to seeing proper grammar in this day and age, but my question was carefully drafted.

Okay then, my vote is for Kramer!

Please read my post above. The poll says "better," not "best." This is actually proper grammer, though most people are not familiar with proper grammer. The poll does not claim to list "the best" -- it asks for the "better" of those listed.

  just picking at you as usual, man.

Of those listen; Bonham.
In my opinion its between Keith Moon, Stewart Copeland and Walfredo Reyes Jr.
Fun fact, Reyes was the gorilla in the cadbury's ad.
This is what drumming is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEgF1eGrQhQ&feature=related

"proper grammar" "better of those in my list", bold and righteous task, however, your posters are writing that your list is incomplete. A brush up on percussionists then a more thoughtful list and you'll be keen.

Thanks for the smile. Your list is a reflection of your respects and likes from the drummers on it. "funny and all in good fun, it's nobody's fault, but you can't understand my sense of humor in these words" understood, your humor though, humor like farting is more tolerable to the emitter, questioning the depth of musical libraries by waving the Black Keyes flag, to enlighten us? Ok, I'll listen. "Actually if folks knew more or were up to date, Pat Carney would get a more serious consideration for a vote or 2". I always enjoy reading your posts S.S.P.. Thanks for staying around. You make a cool Forum, frosty 8)
