TV serials. I don't know why but i feel that i should not spend time by watching such imaginative stories and emotions. Something informative and creative should be in my list. i find it guilty cause i don't find any time to watch anything except serials. So, now it's really tough to get out of water.

If it is illegal, fattening and dangerous then for right now it's my guilty pleasure.

One of my favourite guilty pleasures is something that a lot of people will think is a put on but one of my absolute favourite meals is fried cod tongues.Cod tongues are a delicacy in Newfoundland.Another part of the codfish which is in great demand is the "britches" which is the membrane that contains all the eggs of the female cod and it's even better than the finest Beluga caviar.
Both of these culinary gems are fried by first putting them in a bowl of flour mixed with salt and pepper and then fried in "Scruncheons" which are 1/4" - 1/2 " cubes of fatback salt pork fried until a crispy golden brown. The resulting meal is prefered by many-myself included-to the finest prime rib steak dinner. As luck should have it,there's a guy who parks his truck by the side of the road here about 3 days of the week and he sells fish that was caught that very morning and he often has cod tongues which cost about $6 a lb. which is much cheaper than the almost $10 charged in supermarkets.I don't know if the tongues and egg pouches of cod are eaten in any other seaside places but they are a staple here and always will be.

in no particular order...

* Birds. Feeding them, watching them... I'm a bird nerd for sure!
* Chili cheese dogs... a heart attack waiting to happen.
* Beer... sure it's fattening but I could care less.
* Bourbon... I like it almost as much as beer.
* Burn piles... I have a fire pit in my backyard and love burning stuff.
* Buying guitars that I really shouldn't... the '81 strat is a prime example

I still sleep well at night so I can't say how much guilt is actually associated with these pleasures but this thread has got me thinking

Here's a pic of the new little lady...

@ TC Rocker-Greetings-I collect die-cast vehicles too in 1/64,1/43, 1/32,1/24 and 1/18 too.I'm mostly interested in cars from pre WW II vehicles but 40s,50s and 60s and even the 70s appeal to me too.I only have 1 late model car and that's a Porsche Cayman because they're my favourite current sports car.I also have quite a few Corgi,Dinky and Matchbox die-casts from the 50s and 60s too.I got my first Corgi Toys for Christmas in 1959 and collected them until about 1965,I have about 30 of these at least. I have a 1947 1/18 MG TC Midget and a 1949 1/18 Jaguar XK-120 on order and they should be here next week.It costs an arm and a leg to buy diecasts here because Canadian companies charge around $70-$80 for models that cost less than 1/2 that in the US but the postage and handling and duties from US companies bring the totals to around $70-$80 too,so it's a no-win situation.

I recently saw an ad in our local Buy & Sell mag. "Die-cast 1/18 models for sale" and went to check it out,the guy literally had a collection well into the hundreds and probably as many as over 2,000.He agreed to sell me a few so I bought 3 X 1/18 and 3 - 1/24 for $60 so that wasn't too bad.He only had a few that he was prepared to sell separately and the rest had to either go as a whole or a few hundred dollars worth at a time.He had a guy who was a 4 hour drive away the next day and the guy was prepared to buy them all-I hope that he was prepared to spend well over $5,000 because I made a guestimate of $10,000 or more because quite a few were limited edition or in sets plus others were very rare.

So far I only have about 150 but that's after only 2 years of collecting.Cheers.

Hi Guitslinger
I haven't been buying many die cast lately, I just bought die cast cars that I couldn't buy in real cars. I have the usual, mustangs, vettes, and muscle cars from the 50's 60's & 70's I have most of the ones I like. Plus the stores don't carry them like they used to?
Mostly ertl, Johnny lightnings, and hot wheels?
The other car I'd like to get is a 46-48 Buick sedanette, I would settle for a die cast of that?
Tho I'd rather have the real deal.
Tho I do have a real 69 cougar ragtop.

York Peppermint Patties. Lady Armadillo has to hide them from me when there's some in the house.

Vinyl LPs. I recently bought a turntable, and I forgot how dang good and WARM they sound compared to CDs.

Nora Jones...great singer, songwriter and musician...and not too hard on the eyes, either.

James Bond flicks...My favorite Bonds:

(1A and 1B) Connery and Craig are tied; I'd watch Connery read a phone book, so it may be more that I like him as an actor than I like him as Bond. Plus, his movies are classics, so it's hard to ignore him as Bond.

...Craig plays Bond very close to the characterization in the books: a world-weary cold-blooded near-sociopath killer who is capable of feelings, but gets them trampled upon each time he allows them to develop, so he just moves forward. Lady Armadillo described him as "sexy because he's dangerous-looking...", which is more similar to how Bond (the character) was written by Fleming. Plus, any man that can deliver the line, "I've got a little itch..." (even if he was acting) is a mighty, mighty man indeed.

(2) Timothy Dalton (for the same reasons as Craig)...in fact, before Craig, Dalton was the closest to playing Bond as he was in the books (IMHO).

(3) Brosnan; I like Brosnan as an actor (good comedian, and good in the "Thomas Crown Affair" remake), and I liked a couple of his Bond flicks, but I never 100% bought him as Bond until the first quarter of "Die Another Day"...however, the last three-quarters of that movie took away all credibility that had been built up in the first quarter. However, I like looking at Halle Berry (a lot!!), so I forgive him.

(4) Moore; he's about as threatening as a piece of soggy celery, and I am surprised he was able to deliver his lines with his tongue so firmly planted in his cheek, but he was the Bond I grew up on (I was born 1970), so he gets props for turning me on to the movies, and later the books...however, after I read Fleming's books, I promptly started disliking Moore's movies and characterization.

(5) Lazenby; Who? Oh yeah, the guy who was the "bookmark" holding the place until Connery came back...

High end Japanese restaurants. Not uncommon to end up with a $300+ bill for two. But it's worth it.

Beer. I just can't have enough of it.
Junk food, especially chips and dip. My wife hates that guilty pleasure but she has learned to accept it.
Guitars. I only have 3 but I want so many more!
