well i found a pretty cool way to get my diy project going... i want to get an SE squier strat used (since the body has the standard fender strat size i want and it's a cheap way to get it and i could just sell the parts i don't need, i'm gonna have the body and neck refinished) can anyone confirm to me that the following 2 strats are SE squier strat guitars?

sorry for posting here but i want a quick answer

Ralf,

Yes they look like SE's to me. the sunburst looks just like the one I bought.

What is "DIY"

I would guess your going to end up spending a lot of money and time or both to strip off those finishes.

What is your goal?

Truth. It may seem cheaper to strip a finished body, but it's hard to do it right and it takes quite a bit of effort. Or, if you pay someone to do it for you you'll find that it would have been cheaper to get one unfinished to begin with.

Check into Warmoth, USACG or Allparts for reasonably priced unfinished bodies.

Texas,

I watched my brother strip a Fender Bass once. I would not wish that process on anyone. Once you pay for the products and add the labor its just easier to buy a unfinished body or a finished one in the color you want, (unless its a color that cannot be easily had.)

I don't know what his goal is but perhaps we will find out.

Ralf,

check out these inexpensive finished and unfinished bodies for Guitarfetish. I have one of their unfinished mahogany bodies for a HH project. Not bad all in all.

Ralf,

I remember talking with you about the price additions. I did not mean to factor that out.

For a bit more than an SE there is a Lake Placid Blue Squier, I forget the model name.

OOPS!

My bad. The "Deluxe" Squier is Daphne Blue not Lake Placid.

I love Lake Placid also. I do not have one in that color but Its my next one.
