something has got to give...... :? I know this a public forum and everyone has the rite to say their piece. but come on man! this forum is turning into wal-mart! but instead of wandering morons it's trolls! you know who you are so just cool it and take it down a notch. I understand the occasional argument will happen. mindless comments and pointless posts are inevitable (I myself am guilty of that) but to those of you that constantly bicker like your 6 and spread endless nonsense like a plague. just cut the crap!!!!! some great minds are gathered here with a plethora of accumulated knowledge and experience. I do not want you $@! hats running them off!!!!!

SO BUGGER OFF!

I read non of his threads, so I don't have a problem.
Also, you can add members names to an "Ignore" list in your preferences if it makes it easier.

SO BUGGER OFF!

I kinda of agree. One thing I love about this forum is that this forum pretty much moderates itself.Everyone pretty much gets along and knows the proper ettiquette. On occasion Brad steps in ,but for the most part we get to play in the sandbox freely. That does not happen on many forums. If these few people (so called trolls) can just take the advice and criticism and mellow out ,all will be good.On any of my other fishing and hunting forums I am a member of ,these so called trolls wouldn't last a day...they would get eaten up and spit out no questions asked.Maybe it is time for an appointed moderator besides Brad to handle these duties. He is very busy I'm sure and has a life other than watching this board 24-7.I would have no problem banning said trolls or at least maybe
1st warning-lose all priveledges for a week.
2nd warning- a couple weeks and public apology for asshat behavior
3rd....outta here. Done deal!! None if this coming back with a new screen name...IP addresses to be checked for violators. Its sad that it even could comes down to this, but it has to stop and quick-like.I like to think that these few causing the problems...reguardless of thier excuses take note and make the necessary change,I think these people know who they are and if they don't than that is really sad.
My .02,
Eric

Trolls are everywhere on the internet and I don't think you can escape them or force them out. Trolls are not the problem here. They are just the triggers. The problem lies in the way people respond to the trolls. That's the real problem. If everyone ignores a troll he eventually gets bored and moves on. That's why we use the term troll. It's like lake fishing, trolling, he puts out his lure and waits for a fish to bite on it and when someone bites that's when he gets his jollies. We need to collectively take the high road. Ensure we always react to trolls with calm, serenity, clean language and no insults or comebacks, nothing that leaves an opening for reprisal. If we find we can't do that then we shouldn't react at all. I know it's a difficult pill to swallow sometimes but the truth is if we let them get under our skin it only reveals that we are the problem and not them. It reveals we have a weakness that they can exploit. Thanks to this thread some of us have learned we can block people from showing up on our screen when we come here. For some of us that may be the best course of action. Not everyone has the ability to bite their tongue over and over again. Plus, if you don't see it in the first place your day is more pleasant and stress free.

8) Be cool.

Well maybe that's something you could address and try and do better.

Riley, it is not so long since this Forum was fairly smothered in endless posts from you talking about how you were bored and were just sitting under you desk writing dreary poetry and had been up all night and didn't like anyone at school and your parents didn't understand you and... and... and...

Some people got very tired of all of that and said so. But most were polite and calm and either nice to you or ignored you. That was lucky for you, though it reached a point where highly generous and easy-going Forum user russianracehorse nonetheless felt he had to speak to you sternly but kindly about your behaviour. Again luckily for you, you had just enough sense to hear what he was saying and moderate yourself a bit.

So, fortunately for you, today you are not on the receiving end of people's gleeful and hostile prodding; you are not the odd one out in this particular school yard; and instead you have received lots of friendly, supportive input about your particular and serious medical situation.

How about returning a little of that tollerance, forebearing and generosity now?

And if it really bothers you quite so very much, how about simply not reading the posts in question and especially not responding to them? And perhaps going and doing something a little more creative with your day for a while instead?

This is the most sensible thing that has been written on this general topic - probably ever:

There ain't one of us as can't hear that and then find some improvement to make in our own behaviour.

Let's start from here.

i freely admit i was a sad little attention seeker back then, but i'll be honest, i was still finding 'myself' and my nitch. i know i was a really annoying back then, and when i look back at those times they really do embarass me
I have tried numerous times to deal with him, i guess i could keep persisting though. he's posts do drive me up the wall at times, which i guess i wrote my previous post out of frusteration at him, not realising how serious his condition could be, if his claims are correct.

Stop trying. It ain't pretty.

So stop reading them. How hard can that be?

None of us are in a position to know anything about what's really going on with that. So it would be amazingly rude to discuss it in public - and stupid too.

Let's read the posts of BMW-KTM and Amerigo again, and then move on.

Cheers - C

I agree with Ceri. The best solution to that problem is to ignore it, for your own personal mental health.

That is my solution to any problem. Just ignore it. But it seems not to be working for this perticular problem.
