So I went to my local shop on Friday and ordered in the Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster. I went home all happy and anticipating the long wait, but a day later I had another thought pop into my head. Did I order the guitar I really want? Maybe I want the Fender Marauder? MSRP is the same, so they have to be pretty close in retail price. Both have lots of switching options but the Marauder has the triple bucker. I have been gassing big time for the Jazzmaster, but I have never played either. I ask my wife and she says order them both and see which one you like better. I do have 30 days to decide once it arrives.
DAMN YOU DOUBLE GAS!

That means I still have to choose! My wife is really starting to accept the fact that I want to buy gear. When I found out that the J mascis Jazzmaster was coming out, I kept saying I was going to buy it (half jokingly, half serious). She kept telling me no more guitars. We'd drive by the shop and I'd say we should go in to order it and same thing, no more guitars. Our anniversary rolls around and what do I get....a gift card! That one floored me. Then I tell her I don't know which one to buy, then she says order both and try them out!
OK, who are you and what have you done with my wife!

that's not that difficult of a situation if you handle it correctly  just go into this trying your best to keep both  once you receive them name both of them right away. then try to keep them as close to your wife as possible. even let her see you tuck them in at night  eventually she will bond with them also and you can keep both of them! :D

Well I guess the choice has been made. The Marauder is not in the system yet for Long & McQuade stores in Canada.
The Jazzmaster it is! I probably would have went with that anyway, but I thought I would try.

Don't do that to me! I have always wanted a jazzmaster, so this was my opportunity. But in the back of my mind I kept thinking what about the Marauder?
No worries, now I'll have something else to gas over and maybe I can give them a try in person before ordering one.

J Mascis deserves Fender name, not Squier. I vote Maurader. Interesting.

I read that J Mascis wanted a Squier version so that it could be more affordable.
