I whole heartedly agree with the lesson of this parable. Expecting to create a change in the subject is really an exercise in frustration and it would be best to not even open the obvious threads. I find it pretty easy to ignore them. I think the OP of these threads has problems far beyond anything that can be resolved on a forum, and I don't blame him for it.
My own little story: When I was young two brothers moved to our town. One fit right in, the other didn't, to say the least. At first we all gave this other brother quite a hard time. After a while it sunk into our pea brains that this other brother had problems he couldn't change and after we backed off and accepted this he ended up being a great friend to all of us. I'm not sure what this has to do with cats, but there you have it.

My music teacher is currently harbouring a stray kitten in one of the resources rooms.
Originally it was called crotchet, but then he found out it was a female and decided quaver was a more suitable name. I thought semi-breve made more sense but thought better than to bring that up.
Its amazing that no-one thought this was odd behaviour for him.

I think "semi-breve" is for after she's had the snip, no?

Anyway. Why is it odd behaviour? :|

You think it to be normal for a teacher to hide a kitten in his store room?

Absolutely reasonable. You wouldn't want it running around the classroom disrupting lessons, would you?

Cheers - C

I'm not sure which is better, that or having his GCSE class standing in the corridor meowing at the door to the store room. Not that his is a particularly productive class anyway.

do you mean Gut? unless that's some hood talk I am not familiar with

Girth = stomach

Girth is the measurement around an object.

I've heard it used in biology as stomach. I'm going to trust a teacher who's been teaching for 30 years over someone on a forum.

Girth is slang, or at least it is old slang over here in Britain, meaning stomach or more commonly someone’s larger than average stomach!

I believe they are right though that technically its the measurement around an object.

Does your teacher also talk about going up `the apples and pears` and having a `butchers hook` at something as well? If so they may be some kind of 1920`s cockney stereotype.

I think that it's cruel to get an animal used to being fed and then suddenly cut off its food source.Your home and feeding schedule has become imprinted on him and he most regards your place as his home even though he's not alloewd in the house.
Several years ago we had a feral cat coming around the house but didn't do anything to encourage it to stay as a matter of fact I'd "try" to shoo him off.On day I had thrown out some popcorn for the crows and along came the cat and ate it all.I figured if a cat was hungry enough to eat that it would be a sin to leave him starving so I started feeding him cat food daily(we already had 2).Every day I'd move his dish closer to the house until I could get him in the porch and finally in the house proper.Between the jigs and reels we got him accustomed to being touched then petted and finally being picked up-which he thrived on.
Now 5 years later "Scruffy" is a cherished member of the family and loves the other cats. Aside from a couple of accidents first when he moved in he hasn't soiled anywhere in the house and took to the litter box right away.

If you can't or won't take him in or feed him go to the humane society and get a live trap and they could very well find a good home for him-if they don't find a home for him in 30 days or so they may put him down but at least that's not as cruel as starving.
