If we do it like Pauper's Polo as well... take some hockey bats, ride our bikes and try and get the cheese from junction 11 as far as possible..!

I smell a plan.

And an opening News At Ten lead story.

Haha. Junction 11 is a screamer, possibility of death from cars from Bristol, Birmingham and Oxford way through the bypass. I LOVE where this is headed. First person to see matson ski $@!&# is a winner.

Meh. Have you ever done the M4-M5 interchange? Man, now that one's a nightmare: I've driven through it about five thousand times over the decades and I still have to concentrate not to find myself zipping off to Cardiff by mistake (and we wouldn't want that...).

I think cheesy sports through that junction would be pretty ultimate, especially where there are about four roads one above another. Just when you thought you were winning a cheese would come falling from above and put you in hospital.

Rich entertainment.

By the way, anyone who knows their history will confirm; this is almost exactly how football got invented. 8)

Cheers - C

All in good fun, just promise that before the start Ceri, Niki, Vlad and any other Forum members who should think to join go to a nearby pub hopefully a pub populated with an abundance of pretty woman and begin to drink. The only way to stop drinking is to, shall we say, become mates with one of the PW's. Marriage or other similar considerations are moot as you're playing dangerously so be it. After you have all managed to stop drinking then go home sleep on the plan and see if you still want to chase the roadway cheese in the morning. Oh yes pic's will help us know that you've all prepared properly.

Personally when I've have a skinful, in the morning I drink a chocolate milkshake and go for a run. So I think I would still be keen to chase this wheel of cheese all the way to the M6 interchange.

Ok Vlad, Nick, & Ceri...we Americans MIGHT not be as tuff as you Brits, but anybody that would chase a wheel of cheese down the M5 after a night of drinking, got me thinking we might just be a bit smarter or maybe less CRAZY!

One thing is for sure, you guys have one heck of a sense of humor

I'm more than happy to forgo any comparison between rugby and American football players. They're all the same to me, people that can't kick a ball. That thinking never stopped me going to see Birmingham City play though.

However for sheer lunacy, I don't know, I need to think on this. After all you've some real greats over there. George Bush II, Jeff Dahmler, Ed Gein.
What have we got in answer to those? Any number of removed from reality prime ministers and the raving loony party.

http://www.omrlp.com/

The real loonies though, that has to be us voters. How did the MRLP never get in. They wanted to introduce National Leg Over Day. And we kept them out of government.

[EDIT]

Just to show this classic picture on the effects of looting on the 2012 Olympics, from that page

To kick it up a notch they should borrow a few bulls from Pamplona and let them loose along with the cheese.
Seriously though I wouldn't try that even if the prize was a wheel of my favourite Brie that weighed the same as me.Playing football (aka soccer) was as dangerous as I liked my sport.

Bulls yeah, just pass the mustard.

I'm significantly more nimble than a bull. I'll gladly race one down the M5. Especially if there's a bit of cheese handy to go on my steak.

[quote="nikininja"]I'm more than happy to forgo any comparison between rugby and American football players. They're all the same to me, people that can't kick a ball.

Ahem...I was a place kicker and punter in college and hold several records in my High School and never missed an extra point or field goal in fours of High School and only missed one in my one and only year in college and it was a 60 yarder...made four from 59 yards though...so some of us American footballers can kick...and those field goal posts are a bit narrower than the soccer goal!

As for humor are you kidding me? The Brits gave us Monty Python, Benny Hill, and one of the greatest TV shows ever...TOP GEAR...doesn't get much funnier than that

What about banks buying loads of dangerous mortgages and then the whole thing collapsing on their rear ends?

Pure comedy gold. :|

Easy, men. The entire point of this whole exercise is not taking ourselves seriously. Laughing at ourselves is the very heart of what cheese rolling is all about.

And a bunch of other stuff too - for instance, the Bognor Regis International Birdman Competition. There's a couple of poor fools on this vid who have completely misunderstood and seem to think the objective is to win:

These competitions for me are the cornerstone of an entertaining and fulfilled life. Some things are there to win, and some things are there to take a step back, get people together and have a good old fashioned silly time.
