Man, I wish the Fender Custom Shop makes another run of the Tom DeLonge Stratocaster. blink-182 fans are scouring over eBay just to find one. PLEASE CREATE ANOTHER PLEASE and make it importable to the Philippines!

Tbh, they are some of the lowest quality Stratocasters on the market.

Find cheap '70s Mexican Stratocaster.

Buy.

Remove normal scratchplate, replace with pointless single humbucker and volume control.

Block tremolo.

Paint in loud colour.

There you go...

That'd do it.
I actually like Blink 182, in a jejune kind of a way.

I really, really like I Miss You and that's about it. However, Take Off Your Pants And Jacket was the soundtrack to me being about 13-14, playing a LOT of PlayStation around friends' houses, playing guitar too loud and riding my BMX like a jackass. So, effectively, it did the job it was meant to do!

I had a guitar shop put me in one of those Seymour Duncan Invader pickups at the bridge so it gives me the same sound but also I have versatility to use the other pickups as well.

I can't tell the difference between the two.

Saved me a bunch of money (and I get a lot more options) I still get that punk rock sound that I like out of it.

Get a Blacktop Strat and drop in one if not two Seymour Duncan Invaders... there you go! Or get a Fender single-HB Showmaster and do the same thing.

The Tom Delonge took all of the versatility out of a Mexi-Strat and then added a premium on price because of a signature on the headstock. Doubt we will see the TD again or any other incarnation thereof.

These must look great when they have their gigs at Great Adventure theme parks.

Just about any Strat with a humbucker can hit the sound you're looking for. As others have said, just block the trem and throw away the bar. If you really want to go DIY with it steal one of your drummer's old hickory drumsticks. Saw it down and block it with that. Hickory will add a ton of sustain to it. Then just always run it in the bridge only position. Pretty simple. Nothing wrong with that sound. For a pop punk band it's pretty much ideal, actually.

Depending on how much you want to spend these models can give you the same basic guitar.

Squier Black and Chrome
Fender Blacktop HSH
Modern Player HSS
Roadworn Player HSS
American Special HSS

and there are more.

If you absolutely NEED a TD for some bizarre reason you're better off checking Ebay. I doubt he's planning on going back to such a basic model given that Blink 182 isn't his only band now, and even some of the tones he was reaching for near their break up weren't achievable with this configuration.

My personal recommendations would be either the Modern Player, or the above mentioned Blacktop. They are both a lot of guitar for the money and they will allow you to grow as a guitarist. Where as unless you plan on playing only 90's pop punk (which is pretty much all 90's punk) you will outgrow the TD fairly quickly. JMO, of course.
