I doubt very much if there was any such thing as a 40's Hohner guitar as up until the 60s and 70s Hohner made almost exclusively harmonicas and accordions and keyboard instruments..As far as I know Hohner didn't get into the guitar market until the 60s and even then consigned the making of its guitars to Korean and Japanese manufacturers.If it is 40s vintage it would be most likely a Hofner which I can't see anyone entrusting to a young thief who clearly demonstrates that he has no regard for the property of others.
