If I'm using a standard guitar with a standard trem, more often than not standard E-tuning.

If I'm given a Floyd Rose I have a dire need to use drop D tuning, based on the fact it's something I can't have. :P

If I'm playing classical, standard E, drop D and double drop D.

If you like metal or grunge it's quite useful. Particularly as far as Soundgarden goes.

I like both, but I can get a better rougher sound with my own tuning.

I don't get dropped tuning tbh. The loose strings kinda bug me.
