I think you need to celebrate your saved equipment by firing up some Island Reggae Music, mon. Celebrate the positive. :)

I think you really got lucky this time. After ten years plumbing here in the northeast, I have seen so much worse. Think eight feet of water flowing out your basement windows. We have to get the fire department and local power authority on scene to pull the electric meter to shut down the power before we can get anywhere near the place. Even with something like one foot of water, I will drop an electrical tester in the water, just to make sure there is no voltage. I don't want to get zapped!
What's the flooding from anyway?

That sucks, check out Little Giant or Zurn pumps, they suck also, but in a good way.
I keep telling people around here that if and when I am able to own a house I will not have anything in the basement except heating equipment. I have seen enough basement projects get finished up and then ruined almost right away, that I would just never do it.Seems like anywhere from a week to a month there is always some sort of disaster--pipe gets nailed, freeze up, sewage back up (the worst)

Did you say that was your 3rd or 4th flood?Maybe you should consider tearing up the stage and building a floating dock.
