I love it when they snuff out another despot.... it's too bad there's always another one...or two, waiting in the wings to fill his army boots.

Found hiding in a hole in the ground. That's getting to be sort of a tradition, isn't it?

Lesson to snakes and dictators: don't crawl into a hole to hide. It's just asking for trouble...

When are we going to enforce our brand of (choke choke) freedom on Nigeria, Ghana or Somalia?

It's also not a pretty final picture.

I heard the news too, a cynic about these things because so many "dead bad guys" ended up found surprisingly alive in the bad-guy protection program on other continents after WWII and probably every war before and since. +1 that another dictator disguised as a democracy has to take his place because in that part of the world it is written in stone. We have been lucky thanks to our founding Fathers (so far) here in the USA.

No, it really wasn't. Things to reflect upon there.

This whole debacle is a reminder of how ugly the human race can be. I'm not just saying this biased either, I believe there is a right way and a wrong way to do things. I would have much preferred a covert extraction or kidnapping, a peaceful negotiation to relinquish power- and people choose to celebrate brutal death just like the dictator did celebrate unwanted lives, lowering themselves to his very standard. How many lives did this all take and was it really worth it- and has he really bothered us in our western world?

Also will they rid the world of other dictatorships and tyrants? Not a chance. Not like Zimbabwe had any valuable oil assets at risk to chase anyways.. even though people have died at a higher rate there due to genocide and man-made famine. It's still not a convincing propersition for the UN. Just another good excuse to hike oil prices when they don't really need to be raised..

Mugabe will die of natural causes. How disgusting can we get.

I agree wholeheartedly. Much as Gaddafi was a horrible tyrant the savage scenes surrounding his death were truly horrible and must have revolted any decent person, i personally found them pretty disturbing. They should not have been shown on live TV. The image of someone being dragged about, beaten to a pulp with blood spewing everywhere is terrible, no matter what they've done.

He should have been taken alive and then put on trial for crimes against humanity. Not to mention with him being killed the west has lost the opportunity to get more information out of him about the Lockerbie bombing, that's all gone now because they couldn't control their blood lust.
