Ok, here are my questions: Has anyone on this forum been to the factory tour and had a guitar assembled for them from the options that Fender offers on the tour? What was your experience? How is the selection? Are you willing to show us your dream rig? And if you dont mind, how much did it cost?

Wait a minute ...., you can go on a tour and have them make a guitar for you on the spot? You got a link to more info on this?

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Haven't been there but I remember seeing in another video that it is not made on the spot for you. You choose color, shape of neck, electronics and pretty much everything else and they build it for you. From the video I saw they say it takes about 3 weeks for them to do it and they ship it to your place. As to the cost, no one is really sure but if you go to this thread you will find that the general belief is that they start at $1500, in that thread Rob Schwarz a fender employee said that there is nothing official yet but that a ballpark estimate is $1500.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for replying pink-floyd-fan. But yes I was aware that they are not assembled on the spot for you, and I've also read through the other post about the wait times and estimated price etc. I appreciate your time but what I'm more interested in is if anyone has actually had the opportunity to take advantage of this unique experience and if they would like to share some more information with the rest of us in the lounge who might be interested. I would like to know some details about the products available such as color selection, wood varieties, paint material, electronics, etc. I'm considering making the trip but funds are not as plentiful as I would like them to be so I want to make sure I know what to expect before I commit. Frankly, if I make the trip I'll be creating/purchasing my new mojo plank :D Thanks again guys.

I would have expected to have already heard more info from the forum members in that area considering that it has been open for some time now. I am also curious on whether you can choose poly or nitro and what color choices there are, something you would have thought would be on the fender website, after all taking a trip to Corona just to find out the options weren't what you expected would really suck.

Exactly. I find it hard to believe that no one on this site has gone through the tour and/ or purchased a personalized guitar... this is frustrating. I hope some employee of Fender can chime in on this. HEY FENDER, YOU HAVE CUSTOMERS INTERESTED IN THIS SERVICE. PROVIDE US WITH INFORMATION! GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!!!!

The Visitor Center is new. Just opened. So, chill a bit and give them time. I'm sure word will get out and more info will be forthcoming.
