just came in 30 minutes ago! but i am at work so i can only look i love the smell of a new guitar in the case












kinda ignorant of me but there is one thing I find odd. the waterslide appears to be on the surface of the top coat on the headstock. I dont think I ever noticed that on any other guitar. is that normal? i never paid attention to that before now

I think the waterslide thing is normal on an American Vintage, let´s see what other more knowledgeable members say.

I'm looking at my American standard Strat & Tele right now and the Strat decal looks to have a slight curve on the lower side and the top appears to be level. is that what your talking about? If not I'll go back to sleep.

nah it has a flat texture to it and appears to be stuck on the top of the clear. i will try to get a better photo of it when i go on break. might have to wait until i get home so i can use the camera.




I am going to post tons of measurement's when I get home and change the strings. I can tell you that its definately thicker its really pushing an inch thick further down the neck.

I've never seen a legit Fender with a waterslide. Also, why does Fender do that? It looks a bit tacky and sort of messes up the flow of the headstock in my opinion. But, nice guitar. I like the white+mint.

It's perfectly normal to have the water slide decal on top of the clear coat on the Vintage Reissue and Vintage Hotrod series' guitars.

Done the same way it was back when Moses was a lad.
