I had a VM Tele (not a thinline), I bought it with the intention of using it for practice and as a backup to my Am Deluxe Tele. I just never bonded with the VM.
Based on looks alone it was great, but it was somewhat lacking in tone, and the tuners left something to be desired. NOT bashing Squiers here, I have a Squier Strat I bought for my grandaughter that is very good for the money. Just sayin' my VM just was'nt right for me, so I traded it. I would say play as many VM thinlines as possible before you buy. Good luck, keep us posted.
