Anyone want to go halfsies?

At that price? Yeah.

IF they're real. That's the stumbling block. Cos I sure ain't the fella to be able to tell whether they're the real deal or not, even if I had them in front of me, and I expect that's true for most of us. Apparently, there are about six times as many "genuine" 1950s Les Pauls in the world today as ever came out of the Gibson factory in that decade.

But hey, my Paypal account is ready. :|

Cheers - C

Are you sure that is destroyed enough for you?

Or would you rather wait till it's had a bit of this around it

In truth that guitars solidity is a testament to Trev Wilkinsons build strength. I poured half a gallon of unleaded on that fire.

Ah-ha: unless I'm mistaken that looks very much like a double-action trussrod. Remember what he was saying about that? How he only uses single-action rods on his own Fret-Kings models, for tonal reasons? Obviously the same does not apply to budget Vintage brand ones, huh?

Do you see any traces of blue plastic around that rod, by the way?

Anyhow. Tell you what, mate. Now you're an official guitar shop tech I think this restoration should be your project. Show us what you can do. 8)

Now. Where's my old white rayon bell-bottoms? I have a sudden hankering to grow a bushy moustache...

Cheers - C

Jake in fairness those statements are generalisations. My les Paul is lighter and has a slimmer neck than any of my Fenders. A rarity no doubt but they do exist.
You don't have to like em or justify not liking them. I didn't for years but the one I have now changed my mind. Who knows, you may find one that changes yours too.
